Low?Temperature and Water?Based Biotemplating of Nanostructured Foam?Like Titania Films Using ß?Lactoglobulin

Given the broad use of nanostructured crystalline titania films, an environmentally friendly and more sustainable synthesis route is highly desirable. Here, a water-based, low-temperature presented to synthesize foam-like films. A pearl necklace-like nanostructure introduced as tailored morphology via biotemplating with major bovine whey protein ß-lactoglobulin (ß-lg). It shown that crystallization in brookite-anatase mixed phase promoted spray deposition at comparatively low temperature 120 °C. The obtained crystallites have average grain size (4.2 ± 0.3) nm. In situ grazing incidence small-angle wide-angle X-ray scattering (GISAXS/GIWAXS) are simultaneously performed understand kinetics film formation templating role ß-lg during coating. ß-lg:titania biohybrid composites, crystal growth semicrystalline clusters sterically directed by condensing biomatrix. Due using coating, green chemistry approach titania-based functional films can be scaled up on large scale, which potentially used photocatalytic processes or systems related energy application.
